· Started business in 1957 in Fort Wadsworth doing general auto repairs and pumping gas at a service station

·Married in the same year -- my wife plays an important part in my success, then and now.

· In 1957, the challenge was automatic transmissions, so I adopted it as my specialty and named my shop Wadsworth Automatic Transmissions.

· Because of the Verrazano Bridge construction, we moved in 1964 from Fort Wadsworth to William Street in Stapleton (where we are today) and became an independent repair shop working exclusively with automatic transmissions.

· Around 1980, with the arrival of front wheel drive, the automatic transmission became directly and indirectly connected to the rest of the automobile. So, I expanded my business to include general auto repairs.

· In 1993 we completely renovated our building and created a state-of-the-art facility with the latest and best equipment and hired the best technicians available. To reflect the changes that we made, I renamed my business

Jerry DeLuca Complete Auto Diagnostic & Repair Center.

·Today's challenge is electronic diagnostics. As a result, we made the investment in equipment and education to keep up with the technology; and not only survived, but moved ahead stronger than ever.

· I no longer turn wrenches. I promote the business philosophy that I have developed over the years and act as a consultant and advisor in this business.
